Buying your own airplane? It's not as far fetched as you may think. A very popular option for people considering purchasing an aircraft is the Leaseback. When properly structured and executed, a solid leaseback arrangement can significantly reduce your own personal operating expenses, and in many cases may even offer enough profit to pay for your training or subsidize a major portion of it. The way it works is a pilot purchases an aircraft and leases it back to a flight school for use as a training aircraft. The flight school usually reserves around 20% as a management fee and will handle all aspects of aircraft ownership for you. The other 80% goes to the owner of the aircraft to offset expenses for all required maintenance, fuel oil, and insurance.

Our leaseback program is an opportunity for an individual or group to own their own aircraft for pleasure, business, or training at a reduced cost by making the aircraft available to Aero-Smith Flight Center for use in the flight training department. A well-structured leaseback arrangement will also reduce the investment required to obtain a pilot’s license while providing the convenience of owning your own aircraft! Program Highlights: • The aircraft owner receives 80% of the gross hourly rental revenue. The lessee receives 20% to market the aircraft and provide management services including maintenance tracking.

• The aircraft owner receives a discount of $0.50 per gallon of fuel purchased • The aircraft owner receives a discount of 15% on all flight instruction activities including ground school.
• Tie-down fees are waived for the aircraft owner
